Why a World Prayer Day?

The Global Consciousness Project, born out of research at Princeton University found that during times of great tragedy human consciousness focuses to such a degree that it actually affected their computers physically all around the world.

What if human consciousness was focused on a healing intention, together, for a 24 hour period?

What is World Prayer Day?

On the last Saturday of April each year, beginning at 10 am, worldwide, Healing Prayer groups around the world are invited to holdHealing Prayer Meditations as part of the global wave ofhealing intention that is World Healing Prayer Day.

One World . . . One Breath

A human being is a part of a whole, called by us a universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest . . . a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

– Albert Einstein

Love thy neighbor as thyself.

The sage has no interest of his own, but takes the interests of the people as his own. He is kind to the kind; he is also kind to the unkind: for Virtue is kind. He is faithful to the faithful; he is also faithful to the unfaithful: for Virtue is faithful.

– Tao Te Ching

Seek to be in harmony with all your neighbors; live in amity with your brethren.

– Confucius

Let us walk softly on the Earth with all living beings great and small, remembering as we go, that one God kind and wise created all.

Our Birthing Process

In past years some Prayer Meditation events were melded with World Tai Chi & Qigong Day events which have been held in hundreds of cities in over 65 nations, spanning 6 continents. It is time for Healing Prayer Meditations to become a full partner in this extraordinary human event - a wave of global healing intent . . . World Healing Day.

Events have been covered by CNN, FOX News, BBC World Radio, The South China Morning Post, German International Radio, Parade Magazine, and media worldwide.

Governors of more than half the US States have officially proclaimed events for their states, and senates and legislatures have issued proclamations as well.

Past events have included ones held at the United Nations Building (New York) and the Nobel Peace Center (Oslo, Norway).
