Why a World Thespian (Dramatic arts) Day?

In his profound book, Art & Physics, Leonard Shlain points out that major breakthroughs in science and society are often preceded by great parallel shifts in art. As if the artist opens a doorway of consciousness for the physical world to follow.

The Global Consciousness Project, born out of research at Princeton University found that during times of great tragedy human consciousness focuses to such a degree that it actually affected their computers physically all around the world.

What if human consciousness was focused on a healing intention, together, for a 24 hour period?

Performance Art in its highest form is a doorway to imaging-in (imagining) a new, larger, more humane possible reality.

What is World Thespian Day?

The last Saturday of April each year, at 10 am, worldwide, Thespians (dramatic artists) around the planet are invited to publicly perform visions of healing as part of a global wave of healing intent that is World Thespian Day. Film makers are encouraged to produce films advancing world healing and tolerance, to be released on World Healing Day. Part of the family of World Healing Day events.

In past years Artists have contributed their vision to World Healing events which have been held in hundreds of cities in over 65 nations, spanning 6 continents. It is time for Artists to become a full partner in this extraordinary human event - a wave of global healing intent . . . World Healing Day.

Events have been covered by CNN, FOX News, BBC World Radio, The South China Morning Post, German International Radio, Parade Magazine, and media worldwide.

Governors of more than half the US States have officially proclaimed events for their states, and senates and legislatures have issued proclamations as well.

Past events have included ones held at the United Nations Building (New York) and the Nobel Peace Center (Oslo, Norway).
