General Questions

How to add new videos

  1. Login if not already
  2. Go to your 'My Videos' page.  Click 'My Account'-->'My Photos'
  3. The site does not support uploading videos to our server, but you can import videos that you have uploaded to other popular video hosting sites like YouTube.  To import a video, click 'Add' on the submenu bar
  4. Enter the video URL of the video you would like to import.  On YouTube you can find the url by clicking the 'Share' button just beneath the video you want to shere.  You'll see a text box appear with the url you can use.
  5. Under Category, select 'World Healing Day Event' if the video was part of a a world healing day event (ie. World Tai Chi & Qigong Day).
  6. Click 'Link Video' button.

How to add new photos

  1. Login if not already
  2. Go to your 'My Photos' page.  Click 'My Account'-->'My Photos'
  3. All photos must be uploaded into a photo album.  If you don't have any photo albums yet or want to create a new one, then click 'Create Photo Album' under the submenu bar.  If you already have a photo album you want to use to upload photos into, then just click the title of the photo album you want to use
  4. Click 'Upload Photos' from the submenu bar
  5. Proceed to upload the photos by either dragging and dropping photo files into the box or clicking 'Add Files' to select which photos to upload.
  6. Click 'Start Upload'

How to Signup

  1. Click 'Login/Signup'  in the upper right corner of the page
  2. Click the 'Create an account' link
  3. Fill out all the User Information fields (name, Username, email, password, verify password, and click the 'Terms and Conditions'  box.  Then click the Next button.
  4. Fill out all the optional information on the next page and proceed to upload a user photo if you want.
  5. You will receive an email that you have created an account, but need to now verify your email address.  Follow the directions in the email on how to verify and activate your new account.
  6. You can now login with your new username and password 

Difference between an Event and a Group/Class Listing

Events are primarily to be used for advertising your World Healing Day type (example: World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, or World Yoga Day) events that are held the last Saturday of April every year.  Events can also be used to advertise special one-time type events, like seminars or retreats by creating a new event.  Once an event date has passed, the event will be removed from active events and marked as past events.  Past events no longer show up on the events landing page.

Class/Group Listings on the other hand are not tied to any date.  They can be used to advertise your school, classes, or meetups in a park.  Unlike events, listings are ordered by a user sponsorship levels.  Listings published by Platinum users will appear before Gold, Silver, and Basic users' listings.  Listings published by Gold users will appear before Silver and Basic users' listings.  And listings published by Silver users will appear before Basic users' listings.  See the FAQ topic 'Differences between Silver, Gold, and Platinum Sponsor Levels for Group/Class Listings' for all of the other features associated with each type of sponsorship.

What pre-existing users need to do

Over the summer and fall of 2011, we endeavored to migrate from our existing 'Find Local Classes' and 'Event Gallery' pages to a new modern content management system.  The new site we created will not only give the site a more modern look and feel, but will allow us to offer many new existing features for our users.  

We were able to migrate almost everything over to our new content managment system, but there were a few things we couldn't.

  1. Passowords:  Unfortunately, we were not able to migrate your old WTCQD passwords to our new content management engine.  As a result, you must click the 'forgot your password' link on the login page.  A password reset link will be sent to your registered email address. 
  2. Profile photos.  Many of our users had created a profile photo for themselves.  We couldn't migrate these photos over, so if you'd like your profile photo for your page on our new social network, community.worldhealingday.org, then you'll need to add your photo again.  On the top menu under 'My Account', click on 'Profile' and you'll see options to update your profile photo.
  3. Platinum school listings that had uploaded photos and videos will need to reassociate the photos and videos.  Login, click on 'My Listings' from 'My Account', select your listing, then use the 'Add Photos' and 'Add Videos' links.  All photos and videos were migrated over, but you will need to specify which ones to link to your listing.

Once you have your new password setup and optional profile photo, we ask that everyone verify the accuracy of their listings and event albums.  Login to the site and select  'Find Local Classes', 'Event Photos and Videos', and 'Events' menu items.  Under each, you'll see an option to view 'My Listings', 'My Albums', or 'My Events'.  Make sure the information for each is accurate and up to date.


Group/Class Listings

How do I update my listings?

 

To update your listing -- change listing address, phone number, description, etc..,

  1. Make sure you are logged in
  2. Click 'My Account-->My Listings'
  3. Click on the title of the listing you want to view
  4. Click 'Edit' under 'Listing Administration Options'.  
  5. Make your updates, then click the 'Save' button on the bottom

How can I create and associate a community group with my Platinum listing?

Any user who has upgraded to our Platinum sponsorhip level, can associate photos, videos, and events with each of your listings.  This is done by connecting a 'Group' from our world healing day social network (community.worldhealingday.org) to your listing.

To create a community 'Group',

  1. Make sure you are logged in
  2. Click 'My Account ==> My Groups'
  3. Click 'Create' from the submenu bar
  4. Follow the steps to create a new group
  5. Once your group is created, go back and view your listing (click 'My Account ==> My Listings', click listing title, and then select 'Edit') 
  6. On the Edit page, you will see a 'Group' drop down selection box.  Make sure the new group you just created is selected.
  7. Once you save your changes, your listing will display a link to your new Community Group.

How do I add photos and videos to my Platinum listing?

Any user who has upgraded to our Platinum sponsorhip level, can associate photos, videos, and events with each of your listings.  This is done by connecting a 'Group' from our world healing day social network (community.worldhealingday.org) to your listing.  Any photo, video, or event you add to your listing group will also be associated with your listing.   See our other help pages on how to create and connect a community group to your listing.  Once you have done that, you can upload photos and add videos via the 'Group Administration Options' that is displayed whenver you view your new group.

To view your groups, click 'My Account ==> My Groups'

How can I change the picture (avatar) that is displayed next to my listing?

The World Healing Day logo is the default avatar for all new listings.  To select your own avatar, simple follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are logged in
  2. Click 'My Account-->My Listings'
  3. Click on the title of the listing you want to view
  4. Click 'Edit Avatar' under 'Listing Administration Options'.  

How can I delete my listing?

Deleting your listing is final and cannot be recovered.  To delete your listing,

  1. Make sure you are logged in
  2. Click 'My Account-->My Listings'
  3. Click on the title of the listing you want to view
  4. Click 'Delete Listing' under 'Listing Administration Options'.  

Why isn't my listing description displayed?

If your listing descrption isn't showing on our find local classes directory, then you must not be a premium user.  Only user accounts that have paid for a premium user subscription will have their listing directions displayed in the find local classes directory.  

To become a premium user, 

  1. Make sure you are logged in
  2. Click the 'My Account' main menu link
  3. Select 'Subscription Signup' under the 'Account Administration Options' from the Subscriptions page.
  4. Select either the Silver, Gold, or Platinum subscription level.  All of your listing will automatically be updated and be displayed as a sponsored listing once you have paid for a subscription

How do I upgrade my group/class listing to be one of the sponsored listings?

Only listings of our premium users will be displayed as a sponsored listing.  

To become a premium user, 

  1. Make sure you are logged in
  2. Click the 'My Account' main menu link
  3. Select 'Subscription Signup' under the 'Account Administration Options' from the Subscriptions page.
  4. Select either the Silver, Gold, or Platinum subscription level.  All of your listing will automatically be updated and be displayed as a sponsored listing once you have paid for a subscription

All listings and event albums that you've created will automatically get added to the sponsored lists and will get priority ordering on all search results.

How do I add my own class or group listing

Adding your own listing is easy and free!  Just follow these steps:

  1. Login if not already
  2. Click 'My Account ==> My Listings' from the main menu bar
  3. Click 'Create' on the submenu bar
  4. The listing description will only appear for premium users.

Event Photo and Video Albums

How do I add event photos and videos?

Too add event photos or videos you must first upload them to your user account.  See the help content under General questions on how to do that.

  1. Click on 'My Account' --> 'My Event Albums'
  2. You can either create a new event album or click the title of an exiting album you would like to add photos/videos to.  Click 'Creat Event Album' on the submenu bar to create a new album.
  3. If you've created a new event album, then click 'view your new event album now'
  4. Once you've created a new album or clicked the title of an existing album, you can now add new 'photo' albums or videos to it.  
  5. To add photo albums, click 'Add/Delete Photo Albums'
    1. Every photo album that you've created under your 'My Photos' page will be listed.  You simple need to select which of these albums you want to be viewable under the event album.  You can select more than one photo album. 
    2. Click 'Save'
  6. To add videos, click 'Add/Delete Videos'
    1. Every video you've created under your 'My Videos' page will be listed.  You simple need to select which of these videos you want to be viewable under the event album.  You can select more than one video.
    2. Click 'Save'
  7. All Done :)

How to migrate photos from old WTCQD Photo Gallery

How do I migrate my event photos from the old WTCQD event photo gallery, http://worldtaichiday.org/photos/2006WTCQD/2006Photos/WTCQDPHOTO2006.html?

This gallery was manually maintained by Bill.  Folks would email event photos to Bill and then he would manually upload them to the website.  The event photo and video gallery at listings.worldtaichiday.org and worldhealingday.org allow everyone to create their own event photo albums and upload photos themselves.  If you have photos in the old gallery and want to migrate them, then you'll need to migrate those photos over yourselves.  We have no way of knowing which photos on the old gallery belong to which user.  Follow these steps to migrate the photos:

  1. Go to the old photo gallery:  http://worldtaichiday.org/photos/2006WTCQD/2006Photos/WTCQDPHOTO2006.html
  2. Click on your country, then click on your state/province.  Sometimes this brings up all the photos for the state/province, other times you may then need to click on your city.
  3. Eventually, you'll see a page full of photos.  You will need to select which photos to migrate by downloading them to your local computer.  To download the photos, you must right-click on each one you want, then select 'save-image-as'.  Some browsers will allow you to drag a picture from the webpage to a file-folder on your desktop or directory within windows explore or finder.
  4. After you have downloaded all the photos you want, goto listings.worldhealingday.org
  5. Make sure you are logged in 
  6. Click 'MyAccount'-->'My Photos'
  7. Click 'Create Photo Album' from the submenu bar
  8. Enter Album Name and optional information like location and description
  9. Click 'Create Album' button at the bottom of the form to add the new album
  10. This will bring you to the view page of the new album.  Click 'Upload Photos' from the submenu bar
  11. You can then drag and drop your files from your windows explorer folder or Mac Finder window.  Or you can click the 'Add Files' button to select which photos to upload.  
  12. At this point you've uploaded the photos to your 'My Photos' page, but have not associated them with an event album.  Click on 'My Account' --> 'My Event Albums'
  13. You can either create a new event album or click the title of an exiting album you would like to add photos/videos to.  Click 'Creat Event Album' on the submenu bar to create a new album.
  14. If you've created a new event album, then click 'view your new event album now'
  15. Once you've created a new album or clicked the title of an existing album, you can now add new 'photo' albums or videos to it.  
  16. To add photo albums, click 'Add/Delete Photo Albums'
  17. Every photo album that you've created under your 'My Photos' page will be listed.  You simple need to select which of these albums you want to be viewable under the event album.  You can select more than one photo album. 
  18. Click 'Save'

Profiles

Change Password or Email Address

To change your password or email address

  1. Make sure you are logged in
  2. Click 'My Account-->Edit Profile' 
  3. Click 'Edit Details' on the Profile submenu-bar
  4. Update your password and/or email address
  5. Click the 'Save' button

Events

How do I update one of my events?

To update an event:

  1. Make sure you are loggen in
  2. Click 'My Account-->My Events'
  3. Click on the title of the event you want to update
  4. Click 'Event Administration Options' at the top of the right page column
  5. Click 'Edit'

How do I delete one of my events?

How do I share my World Healing Day Photos and Videos?

If you wish to associate your photos and video to a World Tai Chi Day event, you have to first upload the photos and videos.  Here's the steps to upload photos and videos:

  1. On the top menu-bar, click either 'My Photos' or 'My Videos'.
  2. For photos, click 'Upload Photos' from the 'My Photos' submenu bar
    1. You can enter a new album name or select an existing album to upload the photos to
    2. Choose 'Add Files' to select which photos to upload.
  3. For videos, click 'Add' from the 'My Videos' submenu bar
    1. Enter the Video URL from the online video provider (example: youtube)

Once you've uploaded your photos and videos you want to share, you must then create an event album for the year the event took place.  Here's the steps:

  1. On the top menu-bar, click 'Event Photos and Videos'.  
  2. Click 'Create Event Album' on the right hand side of the page.  Optionally, select 'My Event Albums' if you already have an event-album created.
  3. Once you have created your event-album, select the option to view your event-album.
  4. On the view event album page, you'll see options under 'Event Album Administration Options' on the right hand side of the page.  You can select 'Add/Delete Photo Albums' to select which photo albums you want to associate with your 'event-album'.  
  5. Once you link your photo-albums, select the option to 'Add/Delete Videos' for you event-album.  You can then associate any videos you've uploaded to your event-album.
